Call To Action

CALL TO ACTION!

Dear Friends,

This is important ~ if you have been exposed to air pollution, mold, toxic metals, pesticides, chlorinated products, “air fresheners” (petrochemical derivatives) toxic cleaners and other chemicals found in homes, schools, work places, and environment ~ this concerns you.

If we are to ever be allotted the same rights, respect, support, acknowledgment, and help allotted to other illnesses & disabilities we must join forces, we must stand together and support one another and we must make our voices heard. We must present ourselves united for the good of all. As we each fight our related battles, we must work together to gain more political power and to move our society toward our collective goals.

For far too many years, there have been numerous attempts by various individuals and groups to get our government officials, our medical professionals, our bosses, teachers and administrators, businesses, our landlords, and yes even our neighbors and loved ones to acknowledge and address a set of illnesses which is plaguing millions in our country and around the world.

As we all know, there is a vast amount of symptoms & conditions that fall under Toxic Injury. Toxic injury applies to any illness, which stems from being exposed to toxic substances. The plethora of toxic chemicals that mold produces is causing many to become seriously ill all around our country & the world. Recently at the last meeting in regards to the GAO’s mold report, the CDC’s infectious disease division, decided not to participate and follow the GAO’ recommendations. We must turn this awful tide. In order to do so, we must speak even louder. This is why it is just as important that we also recognize all our brothers & sisters who suffer from similar ailments that have been derived from toxic sources. "Toxic Injury" denotes cause and effect. Toxic chemicals, spills and pollution adversely affect our food chain, our water supply and the very air we breathe and if you can’t breathe ~ nothing else matters. It is time for us all, to come together!

Our charitable organization is fighting to bring to the attention of all government leaders, the horrific consequences of consumer product and environmental toxins. Individually and as groups, we have informed those in key positions that toxic exposures are serious to life threatening; that mold infestations, our personal care and cleaning products, our building supplies, pharmaceuticals, even our baby products, etc contain and emit very toxic, very dangerous and unnecessary chemicals.

Years ago, with this knowledge, the “MCS” Beacon of Hope developed a proclamation, which serves to help bring awareness & education for these very issues. We have successfully received signatures of support from over half of our countries governors with more on the way. This petition and proclamation serves all. It brings us together with one immensely loud voice, which in turn will force quicker action and resolution.

Congress is aware of our needs but the only way to confirm how many are suffering and that this crisis demands and deserves their immediate and undivided attention is to show them in black & white that we are fed up and want action taken now. We all need to join together with one concerted effort to get this issue heard.

Please join us in signing the petition, which will tell our leaders loud and clear “Enough Is Enough”. With this said, the most important voice needed to usher in success is yours. Please, help STOP THE POISIONING! Go to the link below now and add your signature, express your concerns and let your voice be heard: http://www.mcsbeaconofhope.com/prc2005m.html

For the newly “injured” or “concerned”:

If you are wondering if these toxic chemicals are affecting you, a review of some commonly associated symptoms is in order: Toxic injury is not only life changing but is often life threatening. Those with toxic injuries/disabilities become functionally impaired, and can affect the way one acts, speaks, writes, perceives or carries out a simple task. They may suffer non ending flu like symptoms, memory loss, hair loss, ramped tooth decay, sleeplessness or insomnia, obesity or unexplained weight loss, behavioral changes, weakness, dizziness, confusion, reoccurring nausea, skin rashes, metallic taste in mouth, irritated eyes, ears, nose, throat, severe sinus and/or migraine headaches, aching joints and muscles, chemical sensitivity and this list goes on. Many might say this can pertain to a lot of illnesses. That is the exact point. Science is increasingly showing that many and most human illnesses can be linked at the footsteps of chemical exposure be it by ingestion, inhalation or absorption.

There are others with even more severe forms of Toxic Injury such as cancer, leukemia, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s, just to mention a few. Of course, diabetes, arthritis, IBS, skin diseases, fibromyalgia, and the many autoimmune diseases associated, are no picnic either.

Some of you may be unaware that another dominant source for toxic chemicals is mold. Several species of molds produce a plethora of toxins that are extremely hazardous to human health. Due to the lack of regulations safeguarding us against mold or other toxic chemicals in our environments, millions have fallen ill with many more just one breath, one exposure away from avoidable illnesses, disabilities and/or premature death.

Friends, we are in a fight for our very lives and those of future generations. Positive change is happening but it will not happen overnight. The fight to rid our planet from the production of these toxic substances will be long and hard. We must educate those in power to realize that toxic chemicals (not all chemicals are toxic) are the route cause and Avoidance must be our first line of defense. At present there is no known cure for these illnesses. Toxically induced illnesses cannot be treated by throwing more toxic chemicals at the toxically injured/disabled. Safer choices, products and practices are readily available, effective and cost efficient.

If we can be of assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We thank you in advance for your anticipated signature and support!

Sincerely, your friend in Hope & Health,
John,

Need For Toxic Mold Legislation

The Need For Toxic Mold Legislation

For far too long, laws have been needed in order to protect many individuals from the hazards of indoor mold. Currently there are no agency’s to call or any avenues for renters, hotel/motel guests, or condo owners to take that can force responsible parties to act when it comes to mold. Many individuals over the years have fallen ill, lost pets, and lost all their possessions due to this. More over, their lives have been totally altered or in many cases ruined. Even in courts, judges have no law to use and in many cases are telling tenants just to move with no justice being served. Due to this, others will follow and end up in harms way. This must stop. Many are calling or writing me begging for help. Children are suffering and many are ending up permanently injured or in some cases there have been fatalities.

There is research, which depicts actual autopsy reports on young children, showing the routes that the mold toxins took causing their deaths. Lives are also ruined because several mold victims end up with a Hypersensitivity To Chemicals (Toxic Encelphalopathy). This is caused by the immune system becoming so damaged due to the toxins that several chemicals make these poor victims ill. This causes many to fall ill where ever they go. Whether to a store, library, or doctor’s offices, these victims get ill from chemicals that are used in everyday products. Perfumes, inks, deodorants, soaps and laundry detergents are just some of the products that hurt these victims and damage their immune & organ systems further. I can tell you first hand how true this is. This causes children to have even more problems with school and the ability to learn and even play.

Legislators have also stated that many constituents call them requesting help and advice due to mold. Top Board of Health officials have told me that for years they have desperately tried to get laws like this in place. That so many are in need of help and there is nothing they can do. This is absurd. If needed, I can put you in touch with many experts that can help educate personnel on the health effects associated with mold and train personnel on how to test for mold. Top researchers and doctors have stated that they would come in person to testify on this Bill’s behalf.

Molds are somewhat like ice bergs. Much of what you cannot see can be very dangerous. It can thrive behind walls and in HVAC systems, emitting spores that are full of toxins throughout the entire structure. This is why I feel that air testing is so important to be included in the legislation. With air testing, there are basic levels which reflect mold growth. These levels pertain only to the numbers that reflect growth and are not reflective of the term “safe levels”. There are no such levels. The toxins emitted by mold accumulate over time in the human body and on possessions. If mold is present, any level will lead to danger. The EPA already established that over 35 micrograms per cubic meter made up of any small particles is considered hazardous to human health. I also have in possession actual test results from labs and environmental reports that can be copied and shown, as a guide to what test results look like. In fact, I have been present when tests have been conducted and witnessed that testing is not that difficult. One room can be air tested in less then thirty minutes. There are also mold test kits that can be purchased in home improvement stores. They cost $9 and $35 for the lab testing and there are copies of these reports available that constituents have sent to me. I am also confident that perhaps an arrangement could be worked out with a testing facility such as Rutgers University. Right now they offer a service to test swab cultures for $50. They also provide the exact same test for free, but it takes an extra two weeks to get the results. The $50 test results are done within three to five days. In NJ there are laboratories that conduct these tests such as P&K Laboratories, formerly owned by Dr. Yang and another lab, which Dr. Yang recently opened. All the resources needed are conveniently near by. All the scientific and medical data this is being addressed in this legislation, has been confirmed many times over by science and practicing physicians. In NJ however, there is only one doctor that I know of that can even treat these people. This makes it even more imperative that laws are put in place that will protect the innocent.

It has been forecast that this is becoming an epidemic. Letting it cluster in house after house is a large cause of this. Stop the growths early and stop additional spores from entering near by houses or buildings. I get many calls from individuals whose houses are located very near to each other and apparently one by one they have fell victim to mold. The warmer year round temperatures, which creates a mesophilic climate, is also conducive to mold growth. Something better be done. Please insert the following concepts’ into the legislation that is now being introduced. Let this serve as a blue print for the legislation being drafted. To do any thing less, would shut down any avenue for help that so many need. All this is stating is that people need someone with authority that can confirm and make property owners keep everyone safe from mold. It is that simple. This is what is needed.

I am calling this the “Justice Against Mold Act” because this is actually the justice that so many have been in need of for several years. It also takes the controversial word “Toxic” out which has been in the titles of past legislation, which top officials have stated caused too much controversy. Mold whether toxic or not, is a health hazard and laws need to be enacted in order to protect the masses from either ignorance or neglect by property owners. I look forward to going to Trenton in order to give testimony in regards to this emergent situation. Thank you for your support with this matter.

Sincerely yours,
